Airport News: The International Terminal is currently being expanded; the first phase is slated for completion in autumn 2004, the second phase in spring 2005.

Transfer between Terminals: The International and Domestic terminals are only 250m (274 yards) apart and are linked by an internal walkway.

Driving Directions: From Helsinki city centre, drive north along Tuusula road (Highway 45) and follow signs for the airport. From the west and the east, get on Kehä III (Highway E18 or Highway 50) and follow signs for the airport.

Car Parking: Indoor car parks are available near both terminals. P1 and P2 are close to the International Terminal; while P3 and P4 are close to the Domestic Terminal. P5 serves both terminals. Short-term, business and long-term parking are available (tel: (0)9 8277 3200). Short term parking is also available in front of the terminals at two extra parking lots, P30 and P31.


Public Transport: Road: Taxi: Taxi ranks are located in front of both terminals (journey time to Helsinki: 30 minutes). Bus: Public buses to Helsinki city centre (nos.415, 451 and 615) depart from outside both terminals (journey time: 40 minutes). More services run to other destinations (tel: (0)100 111; ). The Finnair City Bus (tel: (0)9 818 503; ) also runs to Helsinki city centre.

Information and Help Desks: Information desks (tel: (0)2001 4636) are available on the Departures floor and Arrivals floor in the International Terminal, and on the Arrivals floor of the Domestic Terminal.

Airport Facilities: Money and communications: Two banks and several bureaux de change can be found in the International Terminal. ATMs are situated on all floors of the airport. Internet kiosks are also available. Eating and drinking: There are plenty of restaurants, cafés and bars in both terminals, including a 24-hour fast-food restaurant. Shopping: There are numerous shops at the airport, mainly in the International Terminal, including duty-free and a grocery. Other facilities: The International Terminal has a pharmacy, travel agencies and three baby care and play rooms with feeding and nappy changing facilities.

Conference and Business Facilities: The airport’s Congress Centre (tel: (0)9 818 3737) in the International Terminal offers nine meeting and conference rooms accommodating up to 140 delegates, with full audiovisual equipment and catering. The VIP Centre (tel: (0)9 8277 3117; e-mail: vip.efhk@fcaa.fi) has four VIP lounges, and three teamwork rooms, as well as a separate VIP President terminal for hire. The eService Bar (tel: (0)9 6151 3924; e-mail: reception@eservicebar.com), with Internet connection, workstations and a stylish rest area, is situated in the gate area of the International Terminal (near Gate 20).

Disabled Facilities: The airport has lifts and wheelchair-accessible toilets. Passengers are advised to contact their airline prior to travel for further assistance. There is an information service for the hearing impaired (tel: (0)9 8277 3377) and all information desks at the airport are fitted with induction loops. There is disabled parking available in front of the Domestic and International Terminal, and in the various car parks.
